In addition to our own projects, Mercy Airlift plays an active role in providing air transportation and logistical services for other humanitarian organizations throughout the world.
In the early 1970s, Mercy Airlift dispatched aircraft to Ethiopia for a period of 27 months where we flew thousands of pounds of food supplies to feeding stations in severe famine afflicted areas. We also established small remote medical clinics and provided medical teams and supplies to assist in the health and recovery of thousands of malnourished and forgotten people. All of this was accomplished through individual and corporate donors, as well as a ground swell of volunteers from around the globe.

Medical Resonse TeamsWhile providing transportation services of supplies and materials to disaster victims worldwide, Mercy Airlift knew that more could be done to address the lack of medical attention in developing countries. We therefore set out to establish Medical Response Teams, which care for the physical needs of the injured and provide adequate medical services and treatment for those in developing countries. Over the years, Mercy Airlift Medical Response Teams have attended to
thousands of victims of disasters, as well as those who have suffered
from illnesses or physical problems. We transport patients on an ongoing
basis from remote areas of particular countries to medical facilities
where the patient can receive immediate and proper care. We also transport
patients from country to country in order to have proper medical services
and procedures performed in life threatening circumstances. |
